Glass Menagerie Auditions – November 26th at 7pm

If you want to be challenged as an actor NK Theatre Arts is presenting the award winning play “The Glass Menagerie” from 9th February ’22.
With just 4 characters it is a dream for 2 male and 2 female performers. A brother and sister in their 20s, their mother, and a young male friend also in his 20s.
Open auditions take place at The Forum Theatre Friday 26th November at 7pm (just come along, everyone welcome)

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Amanda Wingfield (playing age 50s) Laura and Tom’s mother. A proud, vivacious woman, Amanda clings fervently to memories of a vanished, genteel past. She is simultaneously admirable, charming, pitiable, and laughable
Laura Wingfield (playing age, early 20s) Amanda’s daughter and Tom’s older sister. Laura is Twenty-three years old and painfully shy, she has largely withdrawn from the outside world and devotes herself to old records and her collection of glass figurines.
Tom Wingfield (playing age early 20s) Amanda’s son and Laura’s younger brother. An aspiring poet, Tom works at a shoe warehouse to support the family. He is frustrated by the numbing routine of his job and escapes from it through movies, literature, and alcohol.
Jim O’Connor (Playing age early 20s) An old acquaintance of Tom and Laura. Jim was a popular athlete in high school and is now a shipping clerk at the shoe warehouse in which Tom works.
