NK Receive £3000 donation from The Mayor Of Stockport Charity
NK Theatre Arts have been presented with a cheque for £3,000 as part of the donations given by the outgoing Mayor of Stockport, Councillor David Wilson for his Charity fundraising last year.
Along with Stockport County Community Trust and Help for Heroes, NK Theatre Arts delivers workshops in performing arts from young people in the borough with an aim of breaking down barriers, combating anxiety among children and gaining confidence and life skills.
The cheque was presented prior to the opening night of NK’s most recent production “My Fair Lady”
Kerry Day – Artistic Director from NK Theatre Arts said:
We were thrilled to receive such a generous donation from The Mayor’s Charity as part of his giving following his fundraising. The pressure’s people are facing at this time really make it difficult for the families of so many of the children we work with week in and week out which has had an impact on the income we would normally generate. The demand on our outreach work to deliver sessions in schools is also unprecedented at this time. The donation will go to support our ongoing work and the rising costs we face to continue to deliver the very best we can for the young people of Stockport and we would like to thank David for his fantastic support during his time in office.
David Wilson – Mayor of Stockport 2022/23 Said:
I am delighted to be able to make this donation to NK Theatre Arts. I have seen first-hand the amazing way it provides such wonderful experiences to so many children from throughout Stockport and I can see the difference it is making for them. It is a wonderful Charity, having such a positive impact in their community and I know this funding will help to continue this fine work.
