We are looking for four experienced performers to take part in a theatre in education play which will be touring schools in Blackburn in November 2024. We are ideally looking for performers who are also competent and confident at delivering additional workshop material around the subject matter, however, training for this will be provided as part of the rehearsal process. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of something that could potentially change lives. It will also provide you with first-hand experience of the professional world of theatre outside of “treading the boards”. PLEASE NOTE: This is a hard-hitting piece of theatre that explores 4 characters’ lives and their experience of interpersonal domestic abuse and coercive control within friendships and relationships and safeguarding on social media. The successfully auditioned will be booked for this professional acting contract lasting 6 weeks- you will be issued a paper contract which would need to be completed and returned prior to the first rehearsal. This contract will stipulate all details including rehearsals, payment and terms and conditions of employment. You will also be required to complete additional paperwork for your payment to be processed at the completion of the contract. As part of this contract, you will be expected to attend rehearsals, learn a script, and participate in training. Therefore, we are only looking for people who are able and willing to give this contract the required commitment. The NK Theatre Arts Outreach team maintains a high level of professionalism on all projects and there are certain standards of behaviour, appearance, attitude, effort and commitment that we expect from all our performers.
