NK Theatre Arts, alongside Stockport County Community Trust and Help for Heroes are thrilled to be one of the three Charities chosen by the Mayor, Councillor David Wilson to be recipients of the Mayor’s Charity fundraising events this year.

From 12 noon Saturday 15th April, three intrepid members of NK will be heading down to Stockport Council HQ, the iconic Stopford House (centre stage for the TV programme Life on Mars) to take part in a Fund Raising Abseil organised by Councillor Wendy Meikle.

Head of Dance and Musical Theatre Hannah Gorst will be representing the members and staff of NK, whilst Trustee Mike Lamont, Chair of Stockport BID t/a Totally Stockport will be representing our Board and award winning actor, Paul Allison, will be taking a leap of faith in the name of NK’s adult performers.

Hannah said “I am really looking forward to the abseil, I think the last time I have done anything like this was when I was 15 years old, so I hope I remember all of the training from my younger days! It is great to be involved in raising funds not only for NK but also for some other great causes, so anything anyone can give would be great. We also would love be to see some familiar faces on the day too, so come on down and lend your support!”

Mike Lamont said “I am delighted to be able to contribute to such worthy causes and bizarrely I am really looking forward to the challenge. As a Trustee for NK I see the fabulous work that supports all abilities across Stockport’s Youth and provides a safe, enjoyable and plenty of opportunity to display their hidden talents and build stronger social skills learning all aspects of Theatre life.”

Paul Allison said “Not long now until I do the charity abseil! The things I get ROPED in to!! Any donations you can put DOWN on my just giving page so I can DESCEND them to the chosen Mayors Charities will be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I won’t find the experience too RAPPELLant!!”
