An important message from Stuart Dean, NKTA Chair:

It is with great sadness that I am writing this post.

Given the worldwide current  Covid-19  crisis it has become essential that NK Theatre Arts suspends all its activities at The Forum Theatre.

Our plan from the start of this crisis has been to follow the guidance given to the educational sector, and that when schools close we would also close to our members. The government has now made that decision meaning that until further notice all of our Performing Arts sessions are suspended.

Many of you know the staff and volunteers here personally, and have seen how hard everyone has worked over the past few years to strive to create fantastic facilities with an amazing team and with your help we have built an incredible NK family.

So we do not want to completely disengage with our members so we will still be doing our very best to help keep children and young people inspired with remote Performing Arts activities in this difficult time!
For example, we will be sending out lots of regular Dance and Drama videos, messages and activities via our website, NK social media pages and WhatsApp groups and encourage our members to share back their accomplishments with us and their fellow members.

Like many other organisations, this closure will put a huge financial strain on the company. Whilst we will be in discussions with our insurers and hope for help promised by the government, I am hoping that parents are able to support us during this closure to allow us to try to tackle these difficult times, by keeping your membership in place for your children if you are at all able to do so.

Our team will still be available throughout this period, with email the preferred method of contact for the NK team as we try to steer the company through this time of uncertainty.

So please make sure you are following us on Facebook/nktheatrearts and Twitter @nktheatrearts so as not to miss out on any of the activities and information we are publishing.  There are WhatsApp groups starting for our members for Dance (run by Hannah) and Drama (run by Kat), do get in touch with us to be a part of these groups.

To get in touch with a particular staff member, our email format is firstname@nkta.co.uk

On behalf of all the Trustees, Management, Staff and Volunteers, we sincerely thank you for your continued support and we look forward to welcoming you all back to The Forum Theatre as soon as we are able to reopen fully.

Kind regards and Best wishes to all of your family,

Stuart Dean
(Chairman – NK Theatre Arts)
